Data We Process
1. App Data & Location Information
Veya allows you to save, organize, and share information about places you've visited or want to visit. To provide this functionality, we process:
Location data: Place names, addresses, and geographic coordinates from Google Places API User-generated content: Notes, photos, and ratings you add to saved locations
Social features: If you choose to share places with other users, we store this information in our database (powered by Supabase)
Account information: Email address, username, and profile information necessary for social features Phone number (optional): If you choose to use our "Find Friends" or "Invite Friends" features, you may provide your phone number. We use this solely to help you connect with contacts who also use Veya or to send invitation messages. Phone numbers are stored securely and are not shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
All data you create in Veya is stored securely in our backend database. You have full control to edit or delete your saved places and account at any time through the app settings.
Contact Access: If you choose to use the "Find Friends" or "Invite Friends" features, you may grant Veya permission to access your device contacts. We use contact information (phone numbers) only to:
Identify which of your contacts are already using Veya
Send invitation messages on your behalf We do not store your entire contact list on our servers. We only store phone numbers of users who have accounts or have been invited, and this data is encrypted and protected.
We may receive anonymous usage data via analytics tools (such as session duration, feature usage, or crash reports). These are used only to improve app performance and fix bugs. We do not use cookies or tracking for advertising or marketing purposes.
2. Third-Party Services
Veya integrates with the following third-party services:

Purchase and Financial Data
Veya uses Apple In-App Purchases to manage subscriptions. We do not have access to your financial information, name, address, email, or credit card details.
All purchases are subject to Apple's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. For refunds or payment issues, please contact Apple directly.
Contact Data
If you contact us (via email or social media), we will receive any personal information you voluntarily provide (such as your name, email address, or social media handle). We use this information to respond to your questions or support requests.
If you subscribe to updates, we may send you relevant messages related to new features or tips about using Veya. You can opt out at any time.

Website and Social Media

We maintain official Veya social media profiles (e.g., Instagram). If you interact with our profiles, we may receive access to public data such as your name or username. This is governed by the privacy policy of the respective social platform.

Data Storage & Retention
Your Veya data is stored securely in our backend database (Supabase). We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data will be permanently removed from our servers within 30 days.
We only retain limited user data (e.g., email support messages) for as long as needed to fulfill support or legal obligations.
Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:
Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/SSL)

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
Veya is not directed to users under the age of sixteen (16), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If required by local law, you must meet the minimum age to use the App without parental consent.

You have full control over your data in Veya. You may:
Access your data through the app interface
Edit or delete saved places, notes, and photos at any time
Delete your account entirely through app settings, which will remove all your data Revoke contact access at any time through your device settings, which will prevent future contact syncing
Remove your phone number from your account in app settings
Opt out of emails using the unsubscribe link
Contact us to request deletion of any direct communications you've sent
